Welcome to Q2!
As of today, we are just a little more than 90 days into the new year.
There’s a sense of fresh energy and new life in the air – do you feel it? Here in Northern California, the hillsides look almost impossibly green, and tiny blue wildflowers have begun to bloom outside our kitchen window.
Maybe your daffodils are bursting open, too – shining like little suns in a vase on your windowsill?
With the warming weather, we often feel an impulse to spring-clean our homes. Have you ever thought of doing the same with your writing? Clearing? Cleaning? Taking energetic, fresh steps to wipe your writing slate clean?
Let’s take a moment to think about the clutter that’s been holding you back from realizing your writing and publishing potential:
Perhaps you’ve got some rejection or other experiences to clear, before you can feel confident, focused and productive again.
Perhaps you’ve been wasting months cycling between projects, struggling to get focused and finally decide which unfinished manuscript to complete first.
Perhaps you’re exhausted and sick of cramming writing sessions into the random crevasses of your busy life…and you’re certain there must be another, more fulfilling way to reawaken your creativity, sharpen your focus and create a consistent writing habit.
Perhaps you cannot remember the last time you felt excited to write— creatively alive, joyfully engaged and very focused.
What will happen if don’t spring-clean your writing, and you end up carrying these same fears, writing pains and disappointments into the coming summer, fall and winter? How will you feel at New Year’s, when your essays are still unfinished? Your book is STILL not done?
And what will happen instead if you allow yourself to get uncomfortable and ask for the help you need to solve your writing problems?
What if you wipe your writing slate completely clean — freeing up your mind, your time and your focus?
What if, in just a few short months, you are finishing your essays or manuscripts, publishing your work more powerfully and strategically – proactively creating the kind of writing success you’ve always dreamed of?
The choice is yours.
If you really want writing change, you can start today. Here’s how:
1 – Decide to use the start of the second quarter (an artificial, but useful marker) as your starting point for turning your writing around for the better.
3 – For best results, honestly ask yourself: how long have I been struggling to solve these writing problems on my own? How will I get different results, if I don’t make use of a fresh system, perspective and accountability? Is the fastest path to my goals to continue striving on my own, or is it time to invest in the support and guidance of an experienced strategist, someone who can simplify my path and teach me to anchor a productive writing habit into my life in ways I’ve never before experienced on my own?
3 – For best results, ask yourself honestly: how long have I been trying to solve these writing problems on my own? Am I going to continue working at this on my own, or is it time to invest your writing and enlist the support and guidance of an experienced strategist, someone who can simplify my path and help me anchor a productive writing habit into my life in ways I’ve never before experienced, on my own?
You don’t need to continue struggling with your writing, unless you choose to. I’m here to help you.
